Job Summary:
The Enterprise System Engineer will work as part of Aleron's IT Department and will design, develop, implement, support, and maintain production system infrastructure for Aleron companies and external customers. Support will include the design and implementation of hardware and software solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management, and information technology (IT) staff during the creation and maintenance of a system
  • Creates control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organization's business objectives and security requirements
  • Engages in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational
  • Participates in the installation, maintenance, and performance tuning of the infrastructure, including reviewing system logs and generating system performance reports.
  • Participates in the evaluation of system software and hardware by researching vendor options according to selection criteria.
  • Coordinates and performs additions and changes to systems and testing of new hardware and software.
  • Participates in the planning, design, and technical review and implementation for new infrastructure.
  • Documents system design and workflows, train and mentor System Administration and End User support staff.
  • Ensures system uptime and availability meet defined SLAs for systems maintained
  • Provides expertise and recommendations to optimize systems to meet technical and business requirements.
  • Works with internal / external Technical Support teams to ensure timely resolution of customer requests and issues.
  • Responsible for the design, architecture, security, and implementation of Enterprise Systems\Services 
  • Translates business requirements into system requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of experience with Windows Server Administration, VMWare, Hardware and SAN storage experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise systems on-premises and/or in the cloud.
  • Hands on experience and knowledge in configuring switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Working knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and routing
  • Proficiency and experience implementing and maintaining VMware virtual architecture 
  • Management and support of backups and disaster recovery
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands on experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise server platforms in Windows and VMware server farm environment

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Current industry certifications
  • Knowledge of IT and QA standards: ITIL, NIST.
  • Experience working in a professional services and shared services organizations.
