Job Summary:
The IT Quality Assurance Analyst II will work as part of Aleron's IT Department and will participate in all aspects of IT QA efforts. This position will take a significant role in the overall development of test strategies, prepare test plans, scenarios, scripts, and data in cooperation with vendors, business subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders from across the IT Department and throughout the organization. This position will be proficient in business and technology analysis as well as the technical aspects of Quality Assurance including scripting for data access in databases and automated testing support. The Quality Assurance Analyst II will also assist IT management in mentoring other Quality Assurance staff as well as train test participants and contractors on processes, tools and systems. As required by projects, the Quality Assurance Analyst II will conduct system testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and other testing methodologies to verify correct functionality of software and services. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle; become a domain expert on the system under test. 
  • Recommend development life cycle process improvements for quality assurance.
  • Assist management by mentoring quality assurance team including contractors.
  • Build and execute test cases for functional, regression, user acceptance, and other testing including both back-end and front-end testing of entire system, subsystems, and interfaces to other systems as needed.
  • Build and execute scripts for accessing and validating data in databases and automated testing as needed.
  • Review, maintain and build test plan, test cases; implement test strategy, test case design, test coverage, level of effort, and traceability on assigned projects based on approved protocol.
  • Gather and analyze test requirements and perform analysis of existing systems and new requirements and participate in design reviews.
  • Report defects, defect status, and testing status accurately and concisely. Assume responsibility for local procedures pertaining to the defect tracking system, including defect creation, resolution, and status reporting.
  • Responsible for Application Release Management procedures and execution.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to establish personal credibility and rapport with team members, management, and stakeholders. Communicate findings, results, requirements and timelines in an objective manner.


Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Information Technology or 1-3 years of experience in software programming, systems testing, or systems quality assurance (QA). 
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and timeliness in order to meet customer expectations.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates effective listening, communicate, interaction, discretion, and diplomacy skills.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to aggressive project deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Experience working with databases, SQL, XML, and scripting languages

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of the staffing industry and organizational relationships of the company.
  • Experience with QA principles and tools.
  • Experience in software programming, systems testing, or systems quality assurance (QA)
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • QA certification preferred.
  • Experience with Atlassian and related tools, e.g., Jira, Xray, Confluence.
  • Knowledge of IT and QA standards: ITIL, NIST.
