Job Summary:
The IT Generalist Intern will gain hands-on experience working alongside our IT team across a variety of technical disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and resourceful individual to develop a broad understanding of IT operations within a professional services setting. The intern's primary summer focus will be leading the revamp of the company's SharePoint-based intranet and supporting data and reporting initiatives-including Power BI development-while also contributing to general IT support and other projects as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- SharePoint Intranet Revamp (Primary Summer Initiative):
- Lead the end-to-end revamp of the company's SharePoint intranet, including redesigning site structure, navigation, page layouts, and content organization.
- Build and configure SharePoint pages, web parts, and document libraries to deliver a modern, user-friendly intranet experience.
- Develop and curate updated content across SharePoint sites and pages (text, images, documents, and department-specific resources).
- Conduct user testing and gather stakeholder feedback on the new SharePoint intranet design, functionality, and usability; create adoption guides and training materials.
- Data, Reporting & Power BI Support:
- Assist in building, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
- Support data cleansing, transformation, and preparation tasks to improve the quality and reliability of reporting data.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into actionable data visualizations.
- Document data processes, report definitions, and best practices to support ongoing data governance efforts.
- General IT Support:
- Assist with IT troubleshooting and provide end-user support across hardware, software, and applications.
- Support the IT team with other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge base articles.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- General understanding of IT concepts, including hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
- Experience with SharePoint (Online or on-premises) for site building, page design, or content management; familiarity with Microsoft 365 is a plus.
- Familiarity with data and reporting tools, particularly Power BI or similar platforms (e.g., Tableau, Excel); experience building or interpreting dashboards is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in content creation and digital communication (writing, editing, formatting for web and internal platforms).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and eager to learn new technologies and processes.

- This role operates in a modern, hybrid work environment, utilizing technology such as laptops, video conferencing tools, cloud-based applications, and collaborative platforms. Flexibility for remote work is supported, while in-office settings may still involve the use of standard office equipment like computers, telephones, and printers.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those required for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While carrying out job duties, the employee must regularly be able to speak clearly and hear effectively to communicate with others. The role also frequently requires standing, walking, using hands for fine motor tasks, and reaching with arms.
